Dark Galaxy Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) is offered here as a seed packet of approximately 15 seeds (0.04g), a striking heirloom variety with deep crimson fruit splashed with shimmering blue-black speckles and streaks. The small, cocktail-sized fruits have smooth, firm skins and a rich, balanced flavour, equally good for slicing, salads, or fresh eating. An indeterminate (vining) plant growing 1.5–2 metres tall, it produces generously throughout the summer and does well in a greenhouse or polytunnel, or outdoors in a sunny, sheltered spot in milder parts of the country. Being open-pollinated, it's a true heirloom you can save seed from season after season. A colourful, flavour-packed pick for Irish growers wanting something different on the vine.

Sowing Instructions
Sow indoors from February to April, about 0.5cm deep in moist, peat-free compost, keeping the tray at 20–25°C until germination, usually within 7–14 days. Transplant seedlings into individual pots once true leaves appear, then plant out after the last frost, spacing 45–60cm apart with good support in place. Water deeply, feed weekly once fruiting begins, and pinch out side shoots to encourage strong upward growth. Store seeds cool and dry until sowing.
