Lemon Thyme (Thymus × citriodorus) is offered here as a small potted plant, a low, bushy thyme hybrid with small, glossy leaves that release a distinct citrus fragrance alongside the classic thyme aroma. Growing to a compact mound around 20 to 30cm tall, it bears pale pink flowers in summer that are well visited by bees and other pollinators. Its lemon-scented leaves are a versatile kitchen herb, particularly good with fish, chicken and in stuffings, teas and marinades. Growing Instructions
Grow in full sun in well-drained, light soil; avoid wet or heavy ground, especially over winter. Water while young plants establish, then sparingly once settled, as Lemon Thyme prefers to run on the dry side. Trim lightly after flowering to maintain a neat, compact shape and prevent woodiness. Harvest sprigs as needed through the growing season, picking just before flowering for the best citrus flavour.
