Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) is an aromatic, evergreen shrub in the Lamiaceae (mint) family, known for its needle-like leaves and woody stems. It typically grows 1–2 metres tall and wide, producing small blue flowers in spring and summer. Rosemary is widely used as a culinary herb and in traditional medicine, with a strong, pine-like fragrance that also attracts pollinators.

Growing instructions

Rosemary prefers full sun and well-drained, sandy or loamy soil with neutral to slightly alkaline pH.

It is drought-tolerant once established but dislikes waterlogged conditions. Prune regularly to maintain shape and encourage bushy growth. Protect young plants from severe frost, especially in colder climates. Excellent for herb gardens, containers, hedges, and edible landscapes.
