Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) is offered here as a small potted plant, a hardy, evergreen perennial forming a compact, bushy mound around 30cm tall and 40cm wide, with tiny aromatic leaves and delicate purple or pink flowers in summer. Growing Instructions
Grow in full sun in well-drained, light soil with a slightly alkaline pH; Thyme dislikes wet or heavy ground. Water while young plants establish, then only sparingly, as it prefers to run dry once settled. Prune lightly after flowering to keep growth bushy and prevent it becoming woody. Harvest sprigs as needed year-round, picking just before flowering for the strongest flavour.
