Alpine strawberry plant
€4.95
Alpine Strawberry (Fragaria vesca) is a low-growing, perennial strawberry species in the Rosaceae family. It typically reaches 10–20 cm in height and produces small, sweet, and intensely flavorful red berries. Unlike common strawberries, Alpine strawberries have a delicate aroma and are perfect for ground cover, containers, or shaded garden spots.
The 'Yellow Wonder' variety has pale yellow fruit which doesnt get eaten by birds as much so nets are not needed!

Growing Instructions
Alpine Strawberry thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained, fertile soil rich in organic matter. It spreads slowly via runners and benefits from regular watering and mulching to retain moisture. Protect from slugs and birds to enjoy a bountiful harvest. Ideal for small gardens, edible landscaping, and permaculture designs.. Unlike standard strawberries, they do not require runner control, making them low-maintenance and easy to grow.

Reviews
Beautiful and delicious plant that truly thrives in the cooler Irish climate.
It’s still fruiting well into autumn, and while the strawberries slowed slightly during the midsummer heatwave, it’s been wonderfully productive on either side of it. The berries are sweet, flavourful, and perfect as a quick breakfast snack, a light dessert, or honestly any time of day.
Super low maintenance and an essential for any Irish garden in my opinion. Looking forward to planting many of these next year!
