French Sorrel
€6.95
French Sorrel (Rumex scutatus) is a compact perennial herb, offered here as a small-medium potted plant, grown for its tender, arrow-shaped leaves with a bright, tangy lemon flavour. It forms a low, bushy clump around 45cm tall and wide, making it equally at home in herb beds, borders or containers. The leaves are best used fresh, adding a citrus lift to salads, soups and sauces through much of the growing season. Hardy and low-maintenance, it responds well to regular cutting with a flush of new, tender growth. A dependable, long-cropping addition to perennial vegetable beds, herb gardens and food forests in Irish and UK gardens.

Growing Instructions
Grow in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Water during dry spells to keep leaves tender, and cut back regularly to encourage fresh growth and stop flowering stems from toughening the leaves. It may self-seed lightly but is not invasive, so unwanted seedlings are easy to remove. A reliable, low-fuss perennial green for cool climates.
