Lupin seeds
€2.95
Lupin (Lupinus polyphyllus) — (approx. 25 seeds per packet) is a hardy perennial flower native to North America and long naturalised in Ireland, admired for its tall, stately spikes of pea-like blooms in shades of blue, pink, purple, and cream. Growing 60–100 cm tall, lupins add height, colour, and structure to borders, cottage gardens, and wildflower plantings, while fixing nitrogen in the soil through their symbiotic root nodules.
Lupins thrive in full sun and moderately fertile, well-drained soil. They enrich the soil while feeding bees, bumblebees, and butterflies with abundant nectar. Cut back faded flower spikes to encourage a second flush of blooms later in the season. Once established, they self-seed modestly, returning reliably year after year.

Sowing instructions
Seeds are large and easy to handle. Sow indoors from February to April or directly outdoors from April to June. Nick the seed coat lightly or soak seeds in warm water for 12–24 hours before sowing to improve germination. Sow 1–2 cm deep in moist compost and keep at 15–20 °C. Germination usually takes 2–3 weeks. Transplant seedlings to 30–40 cm spacing. Store seeds cool and dry until sowing.
⚠️ Note: Lupin seeds and pods are toxic if ingested. Handle with care and keep away from children and pets.
