Growing Instructions
Plant in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil enriched with compost or well-rotted manure, and provide strong vertical support for the bines to climb. Water well during the first season and in dry spells, mulching each spring to feed the soil. Cut all growth back to ground level in late autumn once it has died back. Harvest cones in late summer when papery and aromatic, then dry thoroughly before storing.
