Cherry Blossom Tree
€29.95
Cherry Blossom (Prunus serrulata) is a graceful, deciduous ornamental tree, offered here as a young, well-rooted tree — supplied bare-root from November to March and as a potted tree the rest of the year. It forms a spreading canopy of 5 to 8 m, producing a spectacular flush of delicate pink or white blossom in spring, an early nectar source for bees, followed by fresh green foliage that turns yellow, orange or bronze in autumn. Grown purely for ornamental beauty rather than fruit — any small fruits that form are not suitable for eating. Best in a sheltered, sunny spot away from strong winds. A striking centrepiece for avenues, lawns and wildlife-friendly gardens across Ireland and the UK.

Growing Instructions
Plant in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil enriched with compost, choosing a sheltered position away from strong winds. Water well during the first year to establish a strong root system, and mulch each spring with compost or leaf mould. Keep pruning to a minimum, removing only dead, damaged or crossing branches in late summer to reduce disease risk — avoid pruning in winter. Once established, it needs little care and rewards you each spring with a spectacular pollinator-friendly floral display.
