Clematis
€14.95
Clematis (Clematis spp.) is offered here as a potted young plant. A vigorous deciduous climber, it typically grows 2 to 4 m tall, producing an abundance of large, showy flowers in shades of purple, pink, white, or blue from late spring through summer, depending on variety. Its blooms are a magnet for bees and other pollinators, adding both colour and wildlife value to trellises, fences, arches, and pergolas. Best grown with its roots shaded and cool while its flowering growth reaches for the sun, it performs reliably in Ireland's cool temperate climate. A classic, easy-care climber for Irish and UK cottage gardens, pollinator-friendly borders, and vertical planting schemes.

Growing Instructions
Plant in full sun to partial shade in fertile, well-drained soil enriched with compost, keeping the roots shaded with mulch or low companion planting. Water well during the first year and in dry spells thereafter, mulching each spring. Pruning needs vary by flowering group, but generally cut back in late winter or after flowering to remove dead or weak stems and maintain shape. Provide sturdy support for the climbing stems to twine around.
