Atomic Grape Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) — (approx. 15 seeds per packet) is an extraordinary heirloom tomato variety, prized for its striking colour, rich flavour, and reliable productivity. The elongated fruits ripen through a dramatic spectrum — from deep green and purple to streaks of red, blue, and gold — creating a dazzling display on the vine. Inside, the flesh is firm, sweet, and complex, making it perfect for fresh eating, roasting, or adding a burst of colour to salads.
Growing 1.5–2 metres tall, Atomic Grape is an indeterminate (vining) tomato that produces heavily throughout the summer. It’s well-suited to greenhouses, polytunnels, or sheltered outdoor spots in warmer areas of Ireland. Like all heirlooms, it’s open-pollinated and genetically diverse, offering exceptional flavour and the ability to save your own true-to-type seed for future seasons.

Sowing instructions
Seeds are medium-sized and easy to handle. Sow indoors from February to April, 0.5 cm deep in trays or pots of moist, peat-free seed compost. Keep warm (20–25 °C) and ensure good light for germination, which takes 7–14 days. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle, then plant out after the last frost, spacing 45–60 cm apart with strong supports. Water regularly, feed weekly once fruiting, and remove side shoots for best yields. Store seeds cool and dry until sowing.
