Tomato seeds - Plum tomato
€2.95
Plum Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) is offered here as a seed packet of approximately 15 seeds (0.04g). A traditional heirloom variety grown for rich flavour and meaty texture, it produces oval fruits 6–8cm long with thick flesh and low water content, ideal for sauces, roasting and preserving, their deep red colour and balanced sweetness giving a classic Mediterranean character. Indeterminate and vining, plants reach 1.5–2m tall when supported, cropping heavily in clusters through summer and early autumn in polytunnels, greenhouses or sunny, sheltered spots outdoors. As with all Earthling tomato seed, it is open-pollinated and true to type, suited to saving and sharing year after year. A flavourful choice for Irish and UK growers wanting a reliable saucing tomato under cover.

Sowing Instructions
Sow indoors from February to April, about 0.5cm deep in moist, peat-free compost, keeping warm at 20–25°C and well lit until germination in 7–14 days. Pot on seedlings once large enough to handle, then transplant after the last frost, spacing 45–60cm apart with sturdy support. Water consistently, feed weekly once fruiting begins, and pinch out side shoots for best yields. Store seed cool and dry until sowing.
