Aubretia seeds
€2.95
Aubretia (Aubrieta deltoidea) is offered here as a seed packet of approximately 100 seeds (0.04g), a low-growing, evergreen perennial native to southern Europe, loved for its vibrant spring colour and ability to cascade over walls, rockeries, and garden borders. Growing 10–15cm tall and spreading up to 40cm wide, it forms a dense mat of small grey-green leaves covered in masses of purple, pink, or blue flowers from March to May, providing an early nectar source for bees. Aubretia thrives in full sun and well-drained, moderately fertile soil, preferring a position where it can trail or spill naturally. Once established it's hardy, drought-tolerant, and long-lived, creating a colourful, weed-suppressing carpet for rockeries and dry-stone walls in Irish and UK gardens.

Sowing Instructions
Seeds are fine. Sow from February to May, under cover or directly outdoors in late spring. Scatter lightly over the surface of moist compost and press gently without covering, as light aids germination. Keep at 15–20°C with even moisture; germination usually occurs within 2–3 weeks. Transplant seedlings to 20–30cm spacing. Store seeds cool and dry until sowing.
