Coriander (Coriandrum sativum) is offered here as a seed packet of approximately 100 seeds (1.05g). A fragrant annual herb native to southern Europe and western Asia, it grows 30–60cm tall with soft, feathery foliage and delicate white flower umbels that draw hoverflies and lacewings. The fresh leaves, known as cilantro, bring a bright, citrusy note to salads, curries and sauces, while the seeds lend warm spice to pickles and baking. It grows best in cooler weather, making spring and autumn sowings well suited to Irish conditions, and self-seeds readily once flowering begins. A reliable dual-purpose herb for Irish and UK kitchen gardens and pollinator-friendly borders.

Sowing Instructions
Sow outdoors from March to September, 1cm deep, spacing seed 2–3cm apart in rows 20–25cm apart, in full sun and light, well-drained soil. Thin to 10cm spacing for leaf harvest or 20cm for seed production. Keep soil moist during germination, which takes 10–20 days. For indoor growing, sow in deep pots on a sunny windowsill. Allow some plants to set seed for a self-sown succession. Store seed cool and dry until sowing.
