Growing Instructions
Reaching 30–90 cm tall depending on variety, snapdragons come in a wide range of colours — from soft pastels to rich jewel tones — and make excellent cut flowers. Their unique blossoms attract bees and other beneficial insects, providing valuable nectar through the growing season.
Snapdragons thrive in full sun and well-drained, moderately fertile soil. They prefer a sheltered position and benefit from regular deadheading to encourage continual blooming. In milder parts of Ireland, they may overwinter with mulch protection, while in colder areas they can be easily reseeded each spring. Ideal for cottage gardens, pollinator borders, and edible landscapes where beauty and biodiversity work hand in hand.
