The Worcestershire Berry Bush (Berberis julianae) is a hardy evergreen shrub in the Berberis genus, known for its glossy dark green leaves, spiny branches, and clusters of small yellow flowers in spring. It grows up to 3 metres tall and wide, forming a dense, rounded shape. The bush produces deep blue-black berries in late summer that are edible when cooked and often used in jams or jellies, though tart when raw.

Growing instructions
Worcestershire Berry will grow in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil but is tolerant of poor or dry conditions.
It’s a tough, deer-resistant plant that forms a dense, spiky hedge—great for wildlife, windbreaks, or natural fencing. Be aware of its sharp thorns and spreading habit; it may self-seed lightly but is not aggressively invasive. A useful and ornamental addition to edible or protective planting schemes.
